Police have re-opened a road following an earlier closure after fracking protesters chained themselves to a fence.

Preston New Road was closed in both directions for around an hour after protesters blocked the entrance to the Cuadrilla site, police have confirmed.

Around eight protesters chained themselves together in what is described by protesters as a 'lock-on' protest at around 7.30am on 20 February.

The road was closed between Peel Road and Fox Lane Ends.
