Woman taken to hospital after fire at Bispham home

A woman was taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a home in Bispham this morning (February 19).

Firefighters from Blackpool and Bispham attended the scene in Portree Road at around 5.50am.

They used one hose reel to extinguish the flames before using a fan to clear the home of smoke.

A woman suffered smoke inhalation and was given oxygen therapy by fire crews before paramedics arrived at approximately 6.05am.

One person suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital for treatment.One person suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital for treatment.

They were then taken to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were in attendance for around fifty minutes.
