William overcomes heart problems for charity run


He looks like any other fit and healthy 19-year-old but exercise hasn’t always been possible for the St Annes resident.
At 11 years old, he had his first episode of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), an abnormally fast heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute, and for the past few years he has avoided exercising out of fear of setting off his condition.

Hide AdNow back to full fitness, the former Lytham St Annes High School student is ready and raring to race in the Great Manchester Run in aid of the British Heart Foundation’s life-saving research.
William, who now runs a digital marketing company, said: “It was a real worry. When there’s something going on with your heart.”
William will be running the half marathon course at the Great Manchester Run on May 28, the first of several events he will be taking part in for the BHF this year.
