Why I'm demanding St Annes homes developer pulls its finger out and finishes the job
"People paid good money for these homes and deserve an estate that has actually been completed”
Fylde MP Andrew Snowden has accused Morris Homes of treating residents "like an afterthought" as he demands the housebuilder finally completes the roads on a St Annes housing development.
Nearly five years after work first began on constructing the Broadacre development on the former Premium Bonds site at Shepherd Road, residents are still waiting for the estate roads to be properly finished, despite repeated promises from the developer.

Construction started in 2021, with most families moving into their new homes during 2022. The final properties were completed earlier this year, yet essential roadworks remain unfinished.
Residents say protruding ironwork and unfinished road surfaces have already caused damage to vehicles, while some taxi drivers and delivery companies are now refusing to enter parts of the estate because of the poor condition of the roads.
Homeowners first began raising concerns with Morris Homes in June 2025 and have repeatedly asked when the roads would finally be completed. Despite being assured work would take place "soon", no meaningful progress has been made.
Frustrated residents turned to Mr Snowden earlier this year for help and following his intervention, Morris Homes again indicated the work would be carried out shortly, but months later the roads still remain unfinished.

The MP said: "Residents have shown remarkable patience, but enough is enough. Morris Homes need to pull their finger out and finish the job.
"People paid good money for these homes and deserve an estate that has actually been completed. Instead, they're left driving over unfinished roads, worrying about damage to their cars and wondering whether taxis or delivery drivers will even come onto the estate.
"When these homes were being marketed there was a huge sign at the entrance proudly claiming Morris Homes was 'Committed to Customer Satisfaction'. I have to say, having spoken to residents, I haven't found anyone who believes that promise has been kept.

"This simply isn't good enough. Housebuilders shouldn't be allowed to sell homes, move on to the next development and leave residents living on what feels like a permanent building site.
"If Morris Homes wants to salvage its reputation locally, it needs to stop making promises and start delivering. Residents don't want more excuses, they just want the roads finished."
Mr Snowden says he will continue pressing Morris Homes until a firm timetable is provided and the outstanding work is finally completed.
