They enjoyed a date at Blackpool Comic Con and the rest is history for the couple who tied the knot at St Andrew’s Church in Cleveleys.Mike, 34, and Debbie, 41, became engaged last year in Littlehampton and Debbie was so shocked she actually spoke her thoughts aloud. She said: “Instead of saying yes in my head I was thinking ‘this is happening’ not realising I was saying it out loud so he had to ask me again, I then said yes!”On the day itself the weather was perfect and everything ran without a hitch.Debbie, a nursery deputy manager, said: “The wedding was at 3pm which was a very long wait when you’re nervous! “The time was needed though to give the bridal party time to make themselves look amazing - 20 minutes for the groom! “The wedding car was a present from my maid of honour, Nicky Reason and her husband, so when it turned up I was so pleased - it was just what I wanted.”After the service, the couple travelled to the Mount in Fleetwood for photos inside the clock tower and on the pavilion balcony. “We arrived at the Marine Hall to be greeted by our family and friends,” said Debbie, “with Janet Heald from the Marine Hall waiting for us with a glass of champagne.“My husband is a total Marvel geek so his speech was unique and our wedding cake reflected both our personalities. “After our first dace I had a surprise for Mike - he treated me a couple of Christmases ago to singing lessons so I recorded him a song. “Following that we had the band JEPs who had us up dancing until the end of the night.“The day was everything we hoped for and more.“I would sum up the day by saying that I have waited for a very long time to find someone to truly love me and all my weird and wonderful ways and make me feel whole. “I love puzzle pieces and had a tattoo stating exactly how I feel and it sums up my feelings perfectly. It says ‘I am a unique puzzle piece, I have finally found my jigsaw."
