Three lanes of the M6 remain closed due to flooding

An update from Highways England, said: "The M6 in Lancashire was closed southbound between J31 (near, Preston) and J29 due to flooding across the carriageway. 

"However, lanes 2, 3 and 4 are now closed with traffic passing in lane 1. A Met Office yellow weather warning is active for rain in the region along with the Highways England amber alert for strong winds.

"There are delays of over 60 minutes above the usual travel time on the approach.

"Road users are advised to allow extra journey time or consider delaying their journey this afternoon."
