Blackpool basks in the sunshine

It took a while to burn through the morning greyness, but the Fylde coast was bathed in sunshine on the warmest day of the year so far.

Temperatures reached 19 degrees Celsius in the afternoon – a far cry from the freezing temperatures of just last month when the ‘Beast from the East’ whistled in from Siberia.

And it’s set fair for the rest of the week up to Sunday – with a similar day in prospect tomorrow and Saturday, although Friday will be a little cooler.
