The manager of a hotel where a fire broke out this morning has reassured that ‘everything was ok’ after staff safely evacuated the building.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Regal Hotel on Victoria Road West at around 8am following reports of a fire.

Two fire engines and an ambulance were seen outside the venue.

She said: “Everything is fine, it was just a minor fire.

"Nobody was hurt and all the residents got out safely.

"We just followed our fire protocol and everything is back to normal.
