Warton to get new village centre after Fylde Council approves £300,000 regeneration scheme
Warton is set to get a new-look village centre after Fylde Council approved a £300,000 transformation scheme.
The second phase of an enhancement project will create a shared community space designed for everyday use and events, alongside upgraded car parking, new planting, improved lighting and seating.
The investment follows the completion of a children’s play area in 2023 as part of phase one, and sits within the council’s wider regeneration framework, which identifies Warton as a priority for public realm improvements.

Fylde Council has worked with Bryning with Warton Parish Council to deliver the scheme.
Funding has been secured through developer contributions, a £30,000 Lancashire Environmental Fund grant and parish council support, with the authority saying the project will not require additional funding from Fylde taxpayers.
Council leader Coun Karen Buckley said the plans would give the village “a true focal point where residents can come together”.
She added: “For the first time, the village will have a space where events can be held and community spirit can flourish.
“I’m delighted we’ve worked so effectively with the parish council to make this happen.”
Coun Richard Redcliffe, lead member for planning, said public consultation showed strong support for the project and described it as an example of community-led planning delivering improvements for residents.
Bryning with Warton Parish Council chair Coun Angie Normanton said the regeneration had been “lengthy and challenging” but thanked partners involved in bringing the project forward.
She added the village was “long overdue” a central community space for residents and workers to enjoy.
Work is expected to begin later in 2026.
