VIDEO: Football fans march in protest against Blackpool FC owners

Thousands of fans took part in the demonstration, billed as 'Judgement Day Three'.

Police horses were drafted in to manage the crowds that arrived outside Bloomfield Road ahead of Pool's final game of the season, at home to Leyton Orient.

A number of skirmishes were reported outside the ground which was on lock-down for around 10 minutes before supporters were let back into the stadium.

Supporters of both clubs united to protest against their clubs' ownership and the group set off from Blackpool Pleasure Beach before making their way along the Promenade towards Bloomfield Road, where Pool were due to kick off at 5.30pm.

The protest, backed by fans of various clubs and endorsed on Twitter by comedian James Corden, was organised jointly by the Blackpool Supporters' Trust and the Tangerine Knights protest group.

The Tangerine Knights posted on Facebook prior to the event: "Supporters from across the country will be in attendance to show solidarity between clubs.

"We as football fans are showing the world that we are all united in one common goal and that is to protect the game we love from being destroyed.

"Our supporters' trust have done a fantastic job in raising our issues with the football supporters federation who will be joining us on the day.

"We are sure Judgement Day 3 is going to be nothing like any protest seen before as together we are stronger, together we are a force and together we will win."An estimated 4,000 disgruntled Seasiders fans marched through the resort last year for Judgement Day Two, which coincided with the 4-0 defeat to Wigan which all but confirmed Pool's relegation to League Two.

Leyton Orient's final home match of the season last week was interrupted and finsished behind closed doors after fans staged a pitch invasion, which halted play, in protest against owner Francesco Becchetti.
