Victorian shelters vandalised again

St Annes' famous seafront shelters have been vandalised once more.

The Victorian Grade II-listed buildings on the Promenade have been the target for damage several times over the last five years.

Now vandals have struck again over the weekend, leaving each of the three shelters missing windows.

Community volunteer Andrew Noble said: “The council replaced broken glass windows with plastic in an effort to prevent repeated attacks.

“However, the mindless, moronic vandals have been tenacious in their thoughtless behaviour by deliberately pushing the new plastic windows out resulting in damage to the framework.

“The round shelter near the Lifeboat memorial is now missing nine windows.” Call police on 101.
