UPDATE: Man trapped on window ledge was trying to visit friend
A man who had become trapped on a second floor ledge of a block of Fleetwood flats was rescued by firefighters.
Police and fire services were called to Bold Street, Fleetwood, at around 5am this morning to reports of a man trapped on a windowsill.
It is believed that he had gotten into difficulties while trying to attract the attention of a friend who lived in the flat after knocking on the front door.
Police officers secured the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, with safety straps through the window before fire crews from Fleetwood brought him down to safety.
