Triple success for resort care homes

Staff at three Blackpool care homes are celebrating after being named in the top 20 in the region.

The Glen Tanar Rest Home, King Edward Care for the Elderly and The Willows Care Home were chosen out of more than 2,000 in the North West.

The award was based on the care homes’ recommendations from their residents, plus friends and relatives of residents.

Davina Ludlow, Director of carehome.co.uk, said: “We feel the best people to rate a care home are the residents and their families and friends.

Owner of the King Edward Care Home in Warbreck Drive, David Wheeler, said: “The management and staff from the King Edward Care Home are delighted to achieve the award.

Owner of The Willows Care Home in Midgeland Road, Paul Swithenbank, said:“Naturally we are delighted The Willows has been recognised as a Top 20 Recommended Care Home 2016. This is the third top 20 Recommendation the home has received in the past.

“This award comes days after The Willows was recognised by the Investor In People Gold Award.”
