The Mayfield Primary School pupil is known to have suffered with bad asthma.

Danae had just finished Year Six at Mayfield, on St Leonard’s Road East, St Annes, and was due to start at Lytham St Annes High School in September.

Mayfield headteacher, Suzanne Fish, has paid a tribute to the “brave and happy” girl.

She said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with mum Karen, Danae’s little brother Lewis, and the rest of the family at this sad time.

“Danae was a wonderful friend to her classmates and a credit to her family and the school.

“She never complained about being poorly and worked hard to catch up when she had been in hospital; always with a smile and a positive attitude.

“We will miss her terribly.

“Mum Karen would like to say thank you to all the staff and parents of Mayfield for their support during this sad time.”

Danae was also sister to Jonathon, Bernard and Jessica.

Danae’s funeral will be held at Lytham Crematorium on Wednesday at 1.30pm, followed by a service at 2.30pm at Lytham St Annes Free Methodist Church on Walter Avenue.

Well-wishers are asked to made a donation in Danae’s memory to Manchester Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
