The event, opened by Fleetwood MP Cat Smith, featured a dunk tank, a children’s fancy dress competition and various stalls.

The money raised was divided between the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde branch of the Samaritans and Kepplegate’s own residents’ Wish List.

The chairman of the Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre branch management committee came to Kepplegate to accept the cheque for £525.

He said that his branch of the Samaritans, being part of a much larger charity, is often overlooked when donations are given so he was particularly grateful that Kepplegate staff had chosen the local Samaritans as one of their charities this year.

Kepplegate’s residents had been asked to make wishes for their Wish List and top of the list was a ride in a limousine!

So, on a fine autumn day Lancashire Limos transported two groups of residents and carers in a swish white and black limousine from Preesall to Cockerham.

There they enjoyed delicious ice creams at Wallings before being driven back in the lap of luxury, singing along to songs on the limo’s CD player.

At the end of the trip all the residents emerged from the limousine with big smiles on their faces.

More wishes on the residents’ wish list include visits to the Lakes, Scotland and Blackpool Zoo.
