UPDATE: Lanes reopen following M55 accident

An accident on the M55 eastbound at Junction one joining the M6 was causing tailbacks this morning.

NW Motorway Police reported on Twitter at around 6.30am that lanes three and four on the M55 were closed after Junction one while a vehicle was being recovered.

Recovery and clean-up work on the M55 has since been completed and all lanes have reopened.
