Officers and prisoner injured after police van crashes on Norcross roundabout

A police van which was transporting a detainee to custody was involved in a collision on Norcross roundabout yesterday evening (April 12).

Tuesday, 13th April 2021, 12:50 pm

The incident - which also involved a Ford Focus - occurred at around 7.15pm last night.

The prisoner, a 40-year-old man, was under arrest for assaulting a police officer, being drunk and disorderly and criminal damage.

Police confirmed he was injured in the collision and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Two female officers, one of whom was driving, and the driver of the Ford also suffered "minor injuries" in the collision.
