Man in his 60s taken to hospital after car flips onto its roof in Bispham

The crash happened in Bispham Road (A587) at around 8.30am after a car flipped onto its roof near The Squirrel pub,
Police closed the road in both directions whilst emergency services attended the scene.

Hide AdFire crews were able to free a man trapped in the overturned car by pulling him through the boot using a neck and back stabiliser.
He was then handed over to paramedics for treatment.
North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said the man, in his early 60s, has been taken to hospital with a back injury.
The road remains blocked in both directions between Low Moor Road and Moor Park Avenue.
An NWAS spokesman said: "We were called at 8.34am to reports of a road accident in Bispham Road.

Hide Ad"We sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle to the scene.
"One casualty, a man in his early 60s, has been taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital with a back injury.
"The injury is not believed to be serious.
"No other injuries were reported."
A police spokesman added: "We were called to Bispham Road at 8.48am to reports of a serious injury RTC where a car was on its roof.
"One male patient was trapped inside the vehicle.
"Fire service and NWAS are also in attendance."
The incident has led to slow traffic with vehicles forced to turn around and buses diverted.
Bus service 9 is being re-routed to avoid the road closure.

Hide AdBlackpool Transport tweeted: "Service 9 will be diverting from Moor Park Health Centre to Devonshire Road and onto Warbreck Hill Road, cannot service Hollyoak Avenue or the Squirrel."
Mark Eastham, a taxi driver, said: "They had shut the road off from The Squirrel all the way up to Moor Park.
"One of the cars was overturned and it looked like another car had been hit.
"I saw two fire engines, two ambulances and about a dozen police cars. It looked like a big crash.
"I came across it about 9am. The road was completely shut with traffic being diverted around it, and it made quite a bit of congestion on Devonshire Road where they were diverting it to."
