Lancashire Police close Blackpool Road after crash near Ribby Hall in Kirkham

Police closed part of Preston New Road / Blackpool Road after the crash near Hudson Drive, close to Ribby Hall roundabout.

The collision happened at around 9.10am and involved a lorry and a car. Both the driver and passenger from the car were taken to hospital for treatment.

The road is currently closed from Fox Lane Ends / Weeton Road and the Ribby Road roundabout while ambulance crews work at the scene.

There are no details on casualties at this stage but Lancashire Police said the road is expected to be closed for some time.

Earlier this morning, a police spokesperson said: “We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Fox End Lane in Kirkham.

"The road is currently closed from Fox Lane Ends to Ribby End roundabout.

"The road is expected to be closed for some time. We will update once the road reopens.”

In an update to the Gazette, the force added: “It’s a collision between a lorry and a car. Driver and passenger in the car have gone to hospital. Call came at 9.10am.”

North West Ambulance Service were approached for further details.
