Trams will run up to every 20 minutes, with the last tram being at around 7.30pm. But Service One will continue running until 10.15pm for any customers making a later journey.

Blackpool Transport has said that unless you are exempt, Government guidance means that you must wear a face covering while using public transport. And passengers can buy a mask from the conductor on the tram for one pound.

A spokesman said: “Only the middle doors will open when you’re getting on and off the tram. There are floor markings on busier platforms to help with social distancing and you should keep a safe space between yourself and others when waiting to board the tram.

“There are fewer seats available and you should only sit in a seat which isn’t closed. If you’re travelling with a member of your household, or you need to sit next to the person you are with, then this is fine. Please do your best to keep a safe distance from other customers.”

Trams are cleaned before leaving Starr Gate, which means trams are cleaned every 2 hours.

Tickets can be bought on board or by Blackpool Transport’s app or website.
