UPDATE: Amounderness Way reopen after serious accident
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said said the accident involved a car and a motorcycle, close to the junction with Fleetwood Road South.
One witness described the accident, understood to have happened shortly before 6pm, as 'massive'. The road reopened shortly before 8pm.

Hide AdA police inspector said initial reports suggested the biker only suffered minor injuries, though it was later confirmed he was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious but not life threatening or life changing injuries.
A spokesman for the force said the man was put in a pelvic brace by paramedics, after suffering suspected pelvic or spinal injuries.
Blackpool Transport said its number 14 bus service was diverted following the 'serious' collision.
And traffic 'chaos' and 'gridlock' were reported in both Stanah and Thornton following the accident.

Hide AdAnother motorist described seeing the 'crumpled' bike lying in the road close to a car, which also appeared to be damaged.
Update, 8.30am, Friday, May 12: Police have now appealed for witnesses to come forward.
