United Utilities apologise after temporary lights break... again!

Motorists were forced to go through red after the temporary lights at the junction of Highfield Road and St Annes Road, in South Shore, developed a fault during morning rush hour yesterday.

There have previously been problems with the lights, erected at the start of the year while work on the water mains is carried out, either sticking on red or failing altogether.

Blackpool Transport reported the lights were stuck on red on February 10, and again on February 24, causing delays to bus services.

A spokesman for United Utilities apologised for the inconvenience, and said engineers were due to fix the lights at around 10.30am.

The lights are due to move at the end of the week.
