Resort store gives blaze couple hope
Sue and Turney Logan were left devastated when the roaring inferno not only wrecked their home but took away all their priceless possessions.
They managed to flee to safety as the fire rampaged through their home on Vale Terrace, Barnacre, Calder Vale on the evening of Tuesday May 8, but nothing was left.

And the couple, who have two grown-up daughters, were also nominated for a radio competition which resulted in them winning a £300 voucher for new furniture at long-established Blackpool superstore Leftons, on General Street.
Sue, currently living in a rented house on Green Lane West, Garstang, says the new furniture she will buy there will be the first thing they put in their house, once it has been restored.
The 53-year-old, who works with special needs students at Myerscough College, said: “We’re so grateful to the person who anonymously put our names forward to Leftons.

Michael Harvey, of radio organisation the Wireless Group, said: “We were so touched by this lady’s story.”
Richard Lefton, owner of Leftons, said: “It’s always nice to help someone who really needs it.”
