Police 'bale out' driver on M55
Two lanes of the M55 were blocked this evening after a load of insecure hay was scattered across the carriageway.
Lancashire Road Police blocked off two lanes and helped out after the load dropped off just after 7.30pm.
They issued the driver with a fixed penalty notice, but did see the funny side, after tweeting: "It really was the last ‘straw’ when we had to ‘bale’ out to an insecure load on the M55. Carriageway closed whilst we cleared up."
