The officer was dispatched on Sunday afternoon when the exercise ball got loose on the M62 in Merseyside.

North West Motorway Police tweeted: “An officer has just been dispatched to a Yoga ball blowing about the carriageway he has dealt with it.....a new form of traffic calming?”

The post was retweeted and liked dozens of times with social media users taking the opportunity to poke fun at the incident.
