The man was breathing and conscious but had soft tissue injuries and was unable to walk.

Access to the roof through the rear of the building provided difficult access due to the presence of ladders and it was decided the man could not be carried down that way.

Fire crews decided to used the Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) vehicle from Blackpool Fire Station to rescue the man who was taken down in a basket stretcher.

He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital by ambulance.

Talbot Road was cordoned off during the rescue.
