Crews called to rubbish fire
An engine each from South Shore and Blackpool stations spent two hours on Saturday morning at the site of the blaze to the rear of Shaw Road.
Damage was caused to a telegraph pole, resulting in problems with telephone and broadband reception but there were no casualties.

Hide AdSouth Shore crew manager Ian Turnbull said: “It was a fairly large blaze which we believe was started by person or persons unknown.
“We were there for a couple of hours ensuring it didn’t spread to the nearby homes.
“It left a couple of homes on Haig Road logged with smoke, but they were unoccupied.”
