Tower's 123rd birthday bash

Staff at the Blackpool Tower will celebrate the landmark's 123rd birthday with cake this Sunday.

The first 123 visitors to the tower will be treated to free cupcakes, and staff will be handing out 123 free family passes to a selection of local charities.

General Manager at The Blackpool Tower, Kenny Mew, said: “Sunday is obviously a very special day in our history and we want our guests to share these celebrations with us.

“Everyone loves cake – but the cakes we have on offer are very unique indeed.”

The Blackpool Tower first opened to the public on 14th May 1894 and is now the 120th tallest tower in the world.

The Blackpool Tower comprises of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, the eye, the circus, the dungeon and Jungle Jim’s soft play centre.
