World Travel Lounge has now welcomed customers into its new Cleveleys holiday shop just 22 months after the company was founded in Birley Street Blackpool.

In February it opened its second shop in Park Road, St Annes, but director David McDonald said the company had high hopes for the new store.

He said: “It has always been one of the areas we wanted to target when we started. We are really pleased it is open and we believe it is going to increase our turnover by 50 per cent.

“Cleveleys is such as thriving town. Occupancy rates are really high and there is a great mix of retail, independent retailers and corporates.

“The town is really holding its own while others struggle.

“It is is going to support our growth as we implement the very latest technology and selling systems to get our customers the best prices and value for money as well as our excellent currency and holiday money offer where we guarantee to beat any high street bank or other travel agency.”

He said World Travel Lounge had also introduced a new service – tailor made holidays with deposits from £25 per person, balances due just six weeks before travel and the option to take instant credit to travel now and pay later.

David has been invited to join the fifth year of a scheme launched by Travel Trade Gazette called Tomorrow’s Travel Leaders.

The competition for the initiative was extremely fierce, with nominations across a wide spectrum of industry sectors.

He gets free membership to the Institute of Travel and Tourism, and will be invited to a series of networking dinners and events, with speakers drawn from the most senior levels within travel.

Daniel Pearce, managing director, TTG Media said: “There are countless networking events in travel, but there aren’t many opportunities for the younger stars in the business to meet, to network and to be inspired by some of travel’s current leaders.”

David added: “The programme is a great opportunity.

“I had dinner with chief executives of major travel businesses. The opportunity to network at that level is not something I would normally have had and it will help secure new opportunities and trade.”
