Thief and ex-lover caught stealing

A woman became involved in crime after asking her former boyfriend to come and stay a court was told.

Suzanne Booker, 26, of Boothroyden, North Shore, pleaded guilty to theft.

She was given a 12 months conditional discharge and ordered to pay £30 compensation with £85 costs plus £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Andrew Robinson, prosecuting, said Booker was seen going in the Wilko shop, Talbot Road, Blackpool, on January 11, with a man and taking items. They returned later the same day and she was apprehended after trying to steal more. Washing liquid valued at £70 had been taken.

Mitch Sarangi, defending, said Booker had moved to Blackpool to make a fresh start. 
She then invited her ex to come to the resort to stay. Booker, who had a drugs problem, was now on a supervised methadone prescription.
