The countdown to Christmas begins
The event, held a week last Thursday, was organised by staff from Holland House Surgery and members of their dedicated Patient Participation Group.
The event sold out within one week.
Karen Donley, Holland House Patient Participation Group member, said: “What a great afternoon it was, with so many Christmas songs, fun, laughter and dancing along to the Fylde Ukulele Network (FUN).

Hide Ad“It was amazing, there were 22 members of the ukulele band in full swing.”
Local shops and supermarkets supported the event with donations of food, drinks and raffle prizes.
Karen added: “This is the third event of its kind.
“Friends of Lowther and other local people who volunteered made the event so special.”
Doctor Nick Lowe opened the event and said he was “delighted to be asked to open the event.

Dr Lowe then joined the ukulule band on stage singing along and playing his own ukulele.
He also played solo to some of the audience at their tables which brought lots of smiles.
One of the volunteers said: “This event is so special and so fulfilling.
“I would not miss it for the world.”
