Lytham Coastguards were called out today to a rescue a teenager with a head injury on St Annes beach.

The team received the call at 12.19pm this afternoon.

A spokesman said: "We stabilised them, then extricated the casualty off the beach and passed into the care of North West Air Ambulance."
