Teenager arrested again after '˜explosive materials' found

An 18-year-old Blackpool man has been re-arrested after police discovered '˜potentially explosive material' at his home.

Officers found the supicious powder inside a property on Endsleigh Gardens yesterday evening.

A forensic analysis is currently underway to determine exactly what the substance is.

A police spokesman said: “The incident is not being treated as terror related and there is not thought to be a risk to local residents or the wider public.

“Officers are still at the address conducting further searches.”

The incident comes one month after a similar arrest at the address, shortly after a bomb squad van was seen parked on the street on the night of July 4.

In a statement issued at the time, a Lancashire police said; “The incident is not being treated as terrorism related and there is not thought to be any risk to local residents.”
