Tea-time treat for Rosemere Cancer Foundation

The presentation took place during a special afternoon tea event he laid on as a gift to 12 hard-working local Rosemere volunteers.

While the volunteers tucked into deep filled sandwiches, warm, home-made scones, dainty cakes and a selection of freshly brewed fine teas, Andrew presented Cathy Skidmore, Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s corporate fund-raising manager, with a cheque for the money.

The cash was raised thanks to a Midsummer Dinner held last year and a £1 donation made on every afternoon tea taken at the hotel since last May, when Andrew and his team decided to begin a year-long partnership with the charity to support its 20 Years Anniversary Appeal.

Cathy said: “It was Andrew’s suggestion to treat some of our hard- working local volunteers to afternoon tea at Bartle Hall Hotel.

“It was a lovely gesture, very much enjoyed by all, who wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the experience, especially given that Rosemere will continue to receive a £1 donation on afternoon teas until the end of April.

“We are also very grateful to Bartle Hall Hotel for staging a very successful Midsummer Dinner that raised funds for our appeal.”

Andrew added: “We felt an affinity with the Foundation as, through its work to bring world class cancer treatments and services to the area, it is helping families touched by cancer go on to enjoy good times together.”

Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 20 Years Anniversary Appeal is funding a trio of groundbreaking projects at Rosemere Cancer Centre.

Afternoon tea in support of Rosemere Cancer Foundation is served at Bartle Hall Hotel from 2 pm to 5pm Monday to Thursday.
