Summer, a 14-year-old Bornean Orangutan loves nothing more than playing with sacks and clothes, so keepers gave her a festive top to celebrate Christmas.

Staff there say she pulled it on as ‘quick as a flash’ although, as these pictures show, she’s not quite used to dressing up.

Her keeper Charlotte Pennie said: “Summer is such a fun loving character and we noticed that she loved playing with fabrics when she was very young.

“She usually carries a sack around with her and it looks like she is playing hide and seek with the visitors.

“With Christmas Jumper Day becoming so popular in recent years we wanted her to join in the fun and she certainly had a great time!”

Summer was born at Blackpool Zoo in 2002. She is the younger sister of Cherie and the daughter of Vickie and they all live in Orangutan Outlook with resident male Ramon.
