The event at St Michael’s Church aimed to bring the emergency services family together for Christmas time and also give the community chance to support MIND Blue Light Programme, which aids emergency service personnel if they develop mental health problems during and after their career.

Dan Farnworth, emergency medical technician and a MIND Blue Light Programme Ambassador, said: “It was amazing.

“We had about 450 people there.

“To get so many people out on a cold Sunday evening for a carol concert was quite impressive.

“It’s the first time I’ve heard an audience ask for an encore from a choir!

“It was such a success it’s going to become an annual event.”

Visitors gathered at the church on Sunday to browse stalls around the mini Christmas market, hosted by businesses based around Kirkham and the emergency services.
