Storm Dave arrived in the UK yesterday, and Blackpool was included in an Amber ‘danger to life’ wind warning which came into effect at 7pm.

That warning ended at 3am Easter Sunday but many across the town and wider afield will be waking up to see the effects of the storm.

Photographer Dave Nelson captured the scenes on Haig Road, where the storm appears to have torn off part of a building’s roof.

In the top photos you can see a hole in the roof and a large pile of bricks and rubbles on the alleyway behind Haig Road.

The picture directly above however depicts a garden wall on Links Road in St Anne’s, which too was wrecked by Storm Dave’s gusts.

Elsewhere, one reader reported that a tree fell down on Yeadon Way just before midnight, whilst another said that the wind had been rocking the caravans at Marton Mere throughout the night.

We were also sent photos of someone’s TV arial blown off their house and an upside town trampoline that had made its way over into a garden from next door.

Lancashire Police meanwhile said: ““Due to the weather we have had numerous reports of fallen trees and debris on the roads across Lancashire which has resulted in a number of roads being obstructed.

“Because of this, we’re advising that you take extra care if you are out and about and plan your routes accordingly.

“We hope that the weather will clear soon but we’ll keep you up to date with what’s happening. If you need to report anything to us then you can do so on 101 or if someone is in immediate danger, then 999 is your line”.
