Six weeks of diversions from today as major junction closes for works
The junction between St Annes Road and Watson Road in South Shore will be closed off for six weeks today while roadworks are carried out.
Hawes Side councillor Kim Critchley welcomed the work, saying the improvements to Blackpool’s water pipes was necessary’.

Hide AdShe added: “We have been working closely with United Utilities and they have kept both the council and the residents informed.
“There may be some delays but these pipes do need to be changed.
“I have been in meetings with United Utilities and they have told us they will keep the roadworks as quiet and painless as possible.
“In the mean time we will just have to grin and bear it.”
Blackpool Transport has announced that bus services running through the junction will be diverted for the duration of the roadworks.
A United Utilities spokesman said: “The works are to do with an ongoing project to repair and renew 17km of water pipes beneath Blackpool.”
