Singer Joni is Canada bound
The former student of St Bede’s RC High School and Lytham St Annes Technology and Performing Arts College will be opening the official launch party of the event in Toronto on October 13 before playing a series of high profile shows during the renowned Canadian festival.
Joni’s appearances follow a successful string of performances at Indie Week Europe in May, where she earned the accolade of being the only solo artist to be included in the final showcase at the Ruby Lounge, Manchester.

Hide AdThe following month, Joni, who is head of music at St Annes College Grammar School, was among the performers at the inaugural Fylde Rock and Roots Festival held at Great Birchwood Country Park, Warton.
Joni, who has played all over Europe since making her debut as a 12-year-old at the Montreux Jazz Festival. guaranteed her place in Toronto by winning the Aurovine 5k International Showcase Competition. She also earned a press and promotions package which will include a new EP release in 2016.
Following a busy schedule of festival appearances across the UK as well as local venues ranging from St Annes Library to The Links pub during the summer, Joni leaves for Toronto on October 12.
