Dean, 39, who starred in the Channel 4 drama, wants to find the £200 scooter that was left on Lytham Green last Tuesday.

Dean said: “I don’t hold a grudge against the person who has perhaps taken it late at night, I understand a kid might have seen it left there and would have thought they hit the jackpot.

“I honestly don’t want whoever has it to feel like they are in trouble, that person can now be a hero and bring it back.

“A little boy’s world has been crushed, the scooter means everything to him.”

Dean had spent the day on Lytham Green with his family, including his eight-year-old son Joseph, after visiting his mother over Easter.

The family forgot to pack up the scooter late last Tuesday evening and there was no sign of it on Wednesday morning.

The St Annes-born actor believes the scooter must have been taken between 7-9pm.

He said: “I just want to bring the scooter to people’s attention, someone will have told someone they found it on Lytham Green.

“I’m convinced someone will know something, especially if their friend, brother, sister, son or daughter has suddenly acquired a new scooter.”

Dean is best known for his role playing “good guy” Kev Ball in Channel 4’s Shameless.
