Second term for Commissioner

Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

CLIVE Grunshaw has won a second term in office as Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner.

He beat nearest rival Conservative Andy Pratt by 132,261 first preference votes to 96,746.

Mr Grunshaw said he would use his second term in office to invest in and improve ‘one of the best-performing forces in the country’, after overseeing huge cuts during his first admisitration..

He was declared victor after a count at St George’s Hall in Blackburn.

UKIP’s James Barker finished third with 49,987, and Lib Dem Graham Roach in fourth with 23,164.

A second preferance count was held as none of the candidates took more than 50 per cent in the first; Mr Grunshaw registered 132,261 votes, Mr Pratt was second with 96,746.
