Two hundred young people enjoyed a weekend of adventure at the County Rally.

They all went well prepared with ruck sacks on their backs, wet weather gear just in case, boots, and ready for all the out and indoor fun.

The District camped in one of the many fields and joined up with over 1,300 Scouts and their leaders from all over the other seven West Lancs County District including Wyre and Fylde.

The county team had been very hard at work in preparation for this annual rally, and many leaders had been heading for the camp site the Thursday before to prepare for the weekend by putting up tents and marquees as well as sorting out various patrol tents.

Friday night was just a chill out followed by Saturday morning breakfast and a Flag Break when the whole camp attends.

Then it was activity time such as bouldering, pond dipping, tug of war, climbing walls, canoeing, gladiator, archery, rifle shooting and volley ball, which was won by our very own 1st Norbreck Scouts.

All the activities were under supervision by experience Scout Leaders and qualified instructors.

This was followed by a campfire gathering in the evening.

On the Sunday morning a short reflection– known as a Scout Own Service – took place, followed by Flag Break, then back to activities.

After lunch it was Strike Camp, with tents down, and the closing ceremony.

Roll on next year!
