Coun Lily Henderson, the president of the Blackpool District Scout Council, hosted the coffee morning and raffle at St Christopher’s Church Hall, Hawes Side Lane, last Saturday morning.

The event, which also featured lots of other stalls, raised funds for a group of our young people from Blackpool District who will be attending international camps and projects.

They will travel to places such as Uganda, Nepal, and to the World Jamboree in California, hosted by the USA, Canada, and New Mexico, throughout 2018/19.

The cost of the trips is supported by Blackpool District Scout Council and by the family and friends of the young people.

They were all treated to some delicious crumpets and toasted tea cakes, along with tea and coffee.

Future events are being organised, such as a Race Night, Table Top Sale, Coffee Morning, and Ladies Night, plus many others, so watch this space.

A big thank-you goes to Blackpool District’s President for organising the event, to members of the District Scout Council, and to the members of St Christopher’s Church for their help on the door, and in the kitchen.

If any company, charity or individual wishes to assist or contribute in any way with the costs to enable our small group of young, dedicated Scouts to fulfil their dreams and ambitions this year and for years to come, email [email protected]
