Rugby star says greens great

A FORMER England rugby ace has become the star supporter of a Fylde charity.

Jason Robinson – who now plays for Fylde RUFC – has lent his backing to the area’s food co-operative, Fylde FoodCo, established last year by the Local Strategic Partnership.

And the former England captain has been visiting Fylde’s allotments with FoodCo’s co-ordinator, Rob Haigh, to collect vegetables to distribute across the Fylde.

The 36-year-old said: “This is an amazing project. We collect food from amateur gardeners and give it to people who need it. I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the vegetables that Fylde gardeners are growing and am just pleased to ensure it goes to the right places.”
