Role has been so rewarding, says PCSO

The recruitment drive for PCSOs has been launched by Lancashire Police.

The police force says there are numerous vacancies for the PCSOs – Police Community Support Officers across the county, with a view to them starting work in June.

Vacancies are permanent and both full and part time roles will be available.

PCSO Linda Stackhouse has been an officer for more than 12 years, much of that time spent in Fleetwood, as well as Knott End and Poulton.

Her varied role over the past decade has included working with the Prince’s Trust and being based at Fleetwood High School.

She said: “It’s been very rewarding work and joining the PCSOs was definitely a good move for me.

“If anyone is interested they should find out more about it.”

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Bates said: “PCSOs are a really important part of the force and play a valuable role in communities across our county.

“The role is also a good training ground which allows officers to move on to other roles in the force, including being police officers, and this combined with leavers and retirements means we now need to recruit.

“This exercise is not about growing – but we do need to maintain our operational resilience.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for people to make a real difference to people’s lives in Lancashire.”

The recruitment window will close at noon on Friday, March 4.
