DS Madeleine Sawyer said: “We are keen to trace Tanner and return him to prison immediately. We would urge anybody who has seen him, or knows where he may be, not to approach him but to contact us straight away.

“Similarly if Tanner himself sees this appeal we would urge him to hand himself in at the nearest police station.”

Anybody who sees him or knows where he may be should contact police on 101, quoting log number 612 of November 23.
