Record-breaker John in town
John Bishop (left) is set to entertain comedy fans in a packed out Lowther Pavilion in Lytham.
The 457 tickets on sale for the TV favourite’s appearance at the venue sold out in record time, taking just one hour and 40 minutes upon their release in April, leaving box office phones still ringing for hours afterwards.

Hide AdBishop is warming up for a 40-date arena tour in the autumn with a series of more intimate gigs around the country – and at Lowther he follows in the footsteps of Jason Manford, who packed out the 457-capacity West Beach venue last June.
The Liverpool-born comic is a regular on television panel shows such as Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You, Eight Out Of Ten Cats and Would I Lie To You.
He has regularly guested on stand-up shows Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Live At The Apollo, as well as his own sketch show John Bishop’s Britain.
In 2012 he completed a cross-channel triathlon in aid of the Sport Relief charity, during which he cycled from Paris to Calais, rowed across the English Channel and ran from Dover to London during the space of five days – raising £3.4m for sports-related good causes in the process.
Last month, the keen Liverpool FC supporter donated £96,000 to the Hillsborough Family Support Group after being moved by personal statements delivered by the victims’ families at their inquests.
