Around 40 to 50 people attended the coffee morning and enjoyed tea, coffee and cake. Chairman and treasurer of the Friends John Grady said: “Friends of the Grand was set up in 1973 and this year we celebrated our 45th anniversary. We help with the upkeep of the theatre by raising funds from subscriptions and social events to finance projects within the theatre.

“The theatre now owns everything as last year we were able to purchase the shops. We just battle on.”

All money raised through the sale of tickets for the coffee morning goes towards the upkeep of the theatre.

Special guest at the coffee morning next month is Zoe from Funny Girls coming as himself. For more information or to book coffee morning tickets visit www. blackpoolgrand.co.uk
