An afternoon tea took place in the Wesley Hall, at Lytham Methodist Church, on Park Street, Lytham. There was a performance from Blackpool-based Encore Singers. Tea and coffee was served, along with sandwiches, scones and cakes.

The event raised £241 for church funds – £57 of which came from a raffle – which will go towards the maintenance and repair of the church’s stained glass windows.

Rita Slater, one of the organisers, said: “It was lovely to have the Encore Singers back again, they have been three times now.

“We are fortunate with the people we have who help out at events, making scones and cakes and so on – they did a great job.

“We were all very pleased with how it went. The feedback from everybody was that they enjoyed it.

“That is what’s important to us, the main thing is people come into our church and have a good time and enjoy the experience.”

The church will be hosting a concert featuring the Fairey Band on May 20, in aid of the North West Air Ambulance.
