The three-day extravaganza, held on Lytham Green from August 1 to 3, will see star performers including Sir Tom Jones, Michael Ball, the Halle Orchestra and a series of 80’s and 90’s stars taking to the stage.

And it seems the headline acts have been a big hit with fans, with tickets for Sir Tom Jones nearly sold out, and sales going strong for the Friday and Sunday nights.

Head of marketing at organisers Cuffe and Taylor, Gemma Vaughan, said she was “delighted with ticket sales” ahead of the festival.

She added: “Ticket sales have been really good.

“They are much better than at this point last year.

“In terms of Sir Tom Jones, we have 3,000 tickets left out of 15,000 – and the capacity is bigger this year.

“For the Friday, we have sold around 7,000, so are half-way to our target, while the Halle is on about 3,000 at the moment, but the capacity is only 7,000 for that night.”

On August 1, 80’s stars perform with 90’s stars, while on Saturday, August 2, Sir Tom Jones will play, before the Last Night of the Proms, when Michael Ball and Lesley Garrett will entertain the crowds on Sunday, August 3.

Artists in previous years included Russell Watson, Alfie Boe and Olly Murs.
